I was reading a creaming of the well reference today which referred to a blue smoke above the water and was reminded of a series of pictures that I saw many years ago, taken by a journalist friend of mine. They were shot at Madron Well, specifically on the of the pools at the site and not the baptistry per se. What was interesting about this sequence of shots is that although the pool looked fine there was a large bulbous cloud above the water, about a metre above the surface, about a metre high, half a metre accross, and spherical. The images of it go from 180 degrees to the left (shot from the bank, the cloud being above the water), to 180 degrees or so from the other side. the cloud was hazy, but solid. A very curious set of images. I have them somewhere about and should post them if I find them. They to this day remain a curious sequence simply because it is not immediately obvious to me what its cause was. I would though be interested to hear of any like experiences. Or for that matter anyone who has seen blue smoke at the creaming of a Well.
