I dont normally do this, but I was so appauled at the state of an emaciated cat I came across today (and which currently is fighting for its life at a local vets) that I thought I would include a link to the Cats protection league to help them in their work: http://www.cats.org.uk/media/news_detail.asp?id=585 I strongly suggest donating to their cause. It is nice to know someone cares about such things.

Hear, hear.

Our cat came from the local Cats Protection, although he was probably just lost, certainly hadn't been mistreated.

It's one of my two charities {the other being the RNLI, on the grounds that living in a coastal town, I may need them some day !}

LOL yes, I live in a hilly bit of Britain, so I would worry if I ever needed their services. That said, a trip to the local RNLI station formed part of my annual holiday when I was a nipper, on the East Anglian coast, and I am still a friend of the RNLI and get the magazine.

With regard to the cat, well yes, this had been mistreated. It was/is in a sorry state. Just amazing/appauling what people can do sometimes. It just looks like the prior owners thought hmm thats an old cat, I know we will let it starve to death on the streets. Still if it survives the night at the vet I will give it a home, I know the Cats Protection League have little money/room to spare at the best of times, and they seem happy with this offer. My last cat came from the Cats Protection League too. That was with me for 16 years amazingly, before dying of old age.
