I have many fond memories of this museum. If you've never been go quickly, or join the petition to save it http://www.petitiononline.com/mus23eum/petition.html

Scandalous and saddening! Shame on Gwynedd County Council. Petition duly signed.

This museum has a varied and interesting collection of artefacts from the neolithic onwards, including Roman and early medieval (sub-Roman/Dark Age) and is a valuable resource.

As I recall they also have some examples of the earliest written Welsh.

If you are going to be in Bangor, then go along and sign the visitors book - popularity takes away one excuse for closure.

Indeed I agree wholly. Of course on the flip side, I wonder what will happen to the large chunks of the collection that seemed to end up with Francis? She surely must be clearing shelf space as I type. I did not notice her name on the petition, but then I did not read all of it.
