 Post subject: Skara Brae vandalised. Could be worse but still...

Vandalism of Skara Brae is quite rightly causing some consternation to archaeologists today. Could have been worse, but removal of this stuff is really not as easy, non damaging (or as cheap) as you might suppose. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/scotland/nor ... 946978.stm

Not that I am condoning such action, I am not, however it is interesting to remember the vandalism of a lot of Scottish island tombs by the Vikings who left some often pretty lewd messages inscribed on the rock is now considered valuable arcaheology.
